    GREETING: Know ye: That on this 5th day of JULY 1944 in Latitude 0000 and Longitude 49* there appeared within Our Royal Domain the PATROL SQUADRON NINETY-FOUR bound SOUTH for the Equator and for CENSORED

    BE IT REMEMBERED That the said Vessel and Officers and Crew thereof have been inspected and passed on by Ourself and Our Royal Staff

    AND BE IT KNOWN: By all ye Sailors, Marines, Land Lubbers and others who may be honored by his presence that EDWARD EUGENE COONEY having been found to be numbered as one of our Trusty Shellbacks he has been duly initiated into the


    Be It Further Understood That by virtue of the power invested in me I do hereby command all my subjects to show the honor and respect to him wherever he may be. Disobey this order under penalty of Our Royal Displeasure Given under our hand and seal this 5TH DAY AUG 1944.

    I did a little research, VP-94 was a Patrol Bombing Squadron, at the time were stationed in South America
    USNR. Lt. Comdr. H.R. Swenson was in charge of initiation ceremony of the Pollywogs who had crossed the equator.

    Creased, there is some brown water discoloration at bottom left
    This item was professionally framed at one point so I can not tell you if there is edge damage
    Frame does show some wear from storage and age
